Shop cars are sometimes bought with a single purpose and others will slowly "grow" into this category. The life of this 2005 s2000 started out with it's main purpose being a great commuter car. Little by little parts were added to make it more comfortable for the daily grind and 3 years later is the result you see here on these pages. The car was bought in 2005 from a dealer in Alabama and the transformation began.

Ask any s2000 owner and they will tell you the car has one of the best shifters of any sports car in the world. Honda did it's homework and this car is probably the most fun you can have in a car but feels like a go-kart!

The first area to be addressed in this car is noise or lack of insulation. Honda wanted to create a lightweight sports car but we wanted a solid quiet platform before we start the audio installation. The ENTIRE car was stripped and 3 layers of Dynamat Extreme was added from the firewall to the floorboards, door panels, trunk panels and finally the trunklid. About 50 lbs of dynamat was used and now the doors "thud" like a true european car door.

For the car audio setup, project goals were simple - to have a full audio system that sounds crystal clear with the top up or down, no rattles, maintain all OEM space storage areas, keep the spare tire, and leave the tub open for storing a flat tire if needed. With these system goals, the amp rack was custom built to hold a single Alpine 4-channel PDX amp as a modular unit that slides on top of the gas tank. We use OEM screw holes so it can be slid out for maintenance, etc. 2-channels run the Focal K2P power speakers up front and the subwoofer is a single JL Audio 10w6 that we built a custom fiberglass box on the driver's side of the trunk. This leaves enough space in the car for a weekend trip. The headunit we chose was the Eclipse AVN-5495 double DIN unit that has a 30gb hard drive for audio playback and also handles the NAVI, DVD and Ipod inputs. A custom bezel faceplate was made and the entire unit was molded into the dash with special brackets. It sits neatly flush with the dash and looks very OEM to most onlookers.

The exterior was kept simple and clean with a combination of a Honda CR lip, oem trunk spoiler and oem side strakes. Car is dropped nicely on set of Tien Flex coilovers and rides on lightweight forged NSX oem wheels with Toyo tires. A custom ver.3 LED setup was done for the headlights and all the amber lenses were smoked internally for a clean look. The LED's give it a Audi R8 look at night and draws virtually no power to give this s2000 a unique look like no other car. The rear AP2 tails were also smoked internally and more LED's were used to light up the license plate and trunk compartments. 8k D2S bulbs finish off the lighting features on this special car.

Performance of any sports car is important and the heart of this car is the Comptech Supercharger kit with aftercooler. Boost is a modest 5psi with stock injectors and car runs about 305hp to the wheels with the help of the HKS Intake and Greddy Type-S blowoff valve. A Comptech free flow exhaust rounds out the engine mods.

Comfort in any daily driver is important so the seats were both replaced with Bride reclining seats. The driver's side sports a Stradia Sport on L/R rails while the passenger side sports a more comfortable EURO II seat on a modified RO rail. A custom Bluetooth setup was installed along with a V1 stealth install to avoid getting in trouble.
