There are special rare cars that sometimes just makes you take notice! The owner of this car waited close to 15 years before finally being able to own this piece of history. Even on a 15 year old platform with the first NSX being sold in 1991, Acura has done it's homework and created a car that was way ahead of it's time. With the minor facelift given in 2002 the car really came alive and this 2004 White/Onyx NSX you see here is 1 of only 1 white/onyx NSX's produced in 2004. Given the rare and exclusive nature, great care was taken in modifying this car. Every single part you see on the car is reverseable and no holes were drilled anywhere on this pristine example from Acura!
As with most sports cars the ride height was the first issue to be addressed here and a set of Tien Flex coils were chosen for the ride. The car was dropped and adjusted a few times before finally getting the proper stance and receiving a proper corner balance. The exhaust note of a stock NSX is not bad but with the addition of the GTone 5.1 exhaust from Japan, the sound is a pure exotic shrill to redline. The special titanium tips finish off the rear nicely. A NSX-R CF diffuser and NSX-R spoiler were carefully bolted on to replace the stock parts for a more aggressive look.
Wheel choice can really make or break a car's build and in the short time the car's been with us, it's gone through 2 sets of wheels. We started out with a 18/19" set of Volk GTV's in matte black but more recently we picked up a set of 18/18" JDM BBS LM's in the DSK finish. Keep an eye in this area as more changes will be done for sure in this area.
With the owner being a tall guy the OEM seats simply did not work as his head would brush against the roof. Again Bride Japan was called for the solution. A pair of red Bride seats were used to allow the passengers to sit about 2" lower. The driver's side sports a red Kevlar Stradia Sport while the passenger side is a comfortable EURO II model. A short shift kit and NSX-R boot was added for driving comfort.
LED replacements were used for many of the dated bulbs on this car including the DRL, license plate and interior cabin lights. A custom red led kit was installed for the underdash cabin lights because oddly enough Acura only had footwell lighting for the driver's side! For this NSX, a custom V1 installation was done to keep everything out of sight from prying eyes. A V1 remote display was carefully mounted in the oem clock radio display. This allows the driver to clearly see the famous V1 indicator arrows but remains low key. The main v1 unit was carefully mounted on a custom bracket between the seats over the drive's shoulder. The remote volume control was hidden near the shifter so the driver can turn it on/off or mute it without any movement.
Cosmetic changes were minor on this exotic ride so CF accents were added on the door sills, rear window garnish and the NSX-R diffuser and spoiler. Everything else remains stock to keep the clean body lines. Clear bra was carefully wrapped around the entire front of this car so rock chips are kept at bay. A JDM red Honda badge and custom smoked headlights round out the list of modifications on this ride.
